Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center, New York.
Composed in Fall 1999, while Lasser was living in the Val de
Rue, near Neuchâtel, Switzerland. The middle movement is
a Vocalise for the orchestra, with the main melody being shared
by all the instruments. The work was commissioned by Maestro Gerard
Schwarz and the New York Chamber Symphony with funds from the
Patrick A Gershel Foundation.
